William Thomas “Tom” Mahone, III age 72 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Greenville passed away September 9, 2024 in Grand Rapids. He was born July 20, 1952, the son of William Thomas, II & Lucille (Morgan) Mahone. Before residing in Michigan, Tom was a police officer in Atlanta, GA. Once he moved to Michigan, he worked for the Kent County Sherrif’s Department. After he left the department, he owned several Adult foster Care Homes in the Greenville area. His time in Grand Rapids was spent managing various properties. In his free time, Tom loved to vacation in Myrtle Beach and spend time with his dog, Taco. He was well known for his sense of humor and making friends for life (once you got past his initial charm). Tom is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Terri Foster, daughter Corina (Joe) Larger of Greenville, sons William J. (Madison) Mahone of Greenville and Edward (Vanessa) Mahone of Chicago; sister Pat (Henry) Taylor of Texas; grandchildren Darian, Brooklyn, Anel, Hannah, Zoey, Elle, Sam, Brian and Mia. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife (Tootie), and his daughter (Jenny). Memorial Services will be 3 PM Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the Marshall Funeral Home.
