Volo Diana Jurden age 81, of Stanton, passed away at home under the care of Kindred Hospice and her family. Our mother Volo (by the way she hated that name) aka Diana was born May 4, 1937 in Mt., Pleasant and left this world at 6:03 AM, Friday, October 26, 2018 for a better one. Diana was a member of the Assembly of God, Euchre Club and retired from Montcalm County Family Independence Agency, now DHHS. She lived life to the fullest, Diana never let any grass grow under her feet. Once her grandchildren were born, her daughters were chopped liver. Diana loved to read, play cards, travel and most of all spend time with her grandchildren. When she was spoiling her grandchildren, she was at the top of her game. They all experienced the grandma flu that was brought on by all the junk food their little hearts desired. One poor soul could no longer sleep in their water bed after watching Jaws with grandma. Needless to say, they all thought she was the most amazing grandma who loved fiercely, and she always listened without judgement. In her mid-twenties Diana started serving the Lord with all her heart, soul and might, dragging her children to any and all revival meetings within a 200 mile radius. Diana’s home church ended up being the Sheridan Assembly of God. Her love of Jesus and her heart for people led Diana to mentor many. Diana is survived by her children Victoria (Kenneth) Cuyler of Holland, Valerie (Anthony) Robbins of Stanton, Lucille (Gregory) Robbins of Floyd, Iowa, (yes they married brothers), Doug (Janice) Mascho of Stanton and Debie (Don) Kolehouse of Rockford; 16 grandchildren Nicole, Jacqueline, Erika, Caleb, Gena, Brandon, Zachary, Benjamin, Marianna, Susanna, Kris, Jason, Patrick, Rob, Todd and Renae; 24 great grandchildren; and her brother David Shively of California. Look at what Diana started. Diana was preceded in death by her parents Mabel and Stanley Gould, siblings Timothy and Lavern Shively, Elwood and Ernest Gould, Florence Christle, Ellen Braden and Linda Lou. Visitation will be 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Sheridan Assembly of God. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Sheridan Assembly of God. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Langston. Memorial contributions can be made in Diana’s name to the Sheridan Assembly of God for a new soundboard. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with complete obituary online at www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com where you can leave a message of condolence for the family.
