Vera Maude (Robinson) Hendricks

Hendricks, Vera M. (Robinson) age 95, of Grand Rapids passed away March 6, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Born December 17, 1927 in Lansing, the daughter of Stanley T. & Dorothy M. (Hoppough) Robinson. Vera was a member of the New Community Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, loved to go to the motorcycle races to watch her younger brother Marvin, graduated from Ionia High School, where she still has contacts to this day, worked at Woolworths as a buyer in the 1940’s, was in automotive advertising sales, volunteered at church cooking till her 90^th birthday while taking care of her family and raising her children.  When she worked at Shook Restaurant as a waitress she met George Hendricks, whom she married on February 5, 1952 and just recently celebrated 71 years of marriage.  Vera is survived by husband George; children Mark Peter Hendricks and Robin Renee (Jeff) Borton; 3 grandchildren Jena Rose (Daniel) Faling, Jacob Donald Grzeszak and Arlenea Rae Gillette & (Paul Mead); 4 great grandchildren; sister Shirley Baker of Walker; brother Ronald  Robinson of Orleans; brother in law Leo Marshall of Greenville; and her cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Marvin Robinson parents, brother in law Larry Baker and her sister Lee Marshall. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Beuschel Funeral Home in Comstock Park and 6 to 8 PM Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. Funeral Services will be 12 NOON Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Lew Vandermeer officiating.  Burial will be at Graceland Memorial Park in Grand Rapids.  Memorial contributions can be made in Vera’s name to the Westminster Food Pantry.
