Valerie Lee Elliott

Valerie Lee Elliott age 65, of Crystal, passed away October 18, 2023, at her home. She was born on May 29, 1958, in Owosso, the daughter of Max W. & Gladys L. (Dibble) Monroe. She enjoyed getting up and going to do her job every day. She was an active church member for 2 years at Crystal Lake Community Church which she participated in their Women's Bible Study Group. She loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren whenever she and time was allowed. She loved being able to meet new people, attending social events, go for walks and spend time outdoors during the summer months. Valerie graduated from Owosso High School in 1976. After high school she worked at Toledo Commutator Company in Owosso for 5 years. She married Wendell Elliott in the year of 1987. They had two children together, Matthew & Heather. After having children, Valerie became a stay-at-home housewife/mom. When their children became school-aged, she started babysitting out of their home in Hubbardston. Starting January 5, 2005, Valerie went back to working part-time at Taco Bell in Alma where she spent working the last 18 years. Valerie is survived by her children Matthew (Brenda) Elliott of Crystal and Heather Elliott of DeWitt; three grandchildren Makiah Elliott, Deonna Elliott and Gladys Elliott; and her sisters Joyce Waltz of Missouri, Pam Whitehead of Alabama, and Linda Knoblauch of Laingsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol M. Carmody and her brother Keith Monroe. Memorial Services will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, starting 11am at Crystal Lake Community Church, 122 S. Main Street, Crystal, 48818.
