Shirley Calkins

Shirley Calkins age 89, of Greenville passed away Tuesday September 22, 2020 at her home under the care of Spectrum Hospice. She was born December 6, 1930 in Greenville, the daughter of Ralph & Beatrice (Kuhn) Aylsworth. On March 4, 1949 she married her husband Donald, where together they enjoyed 70 years of marriage living in the Greenville area. Her first job was a telephone switchboard operator in Greenville. She also was a secretary for a Rolls Royce Dealership in Virginia when her husband Don was stationed there with the US Army. She retired from Fisher Body in Grand Rapids working there for 12 years. She also enjoyed the many pets the family had through the years. Shirley is survived by her son and daughter in law Rick (Bobbi) Calkins of Louisville, KY; grandson Spencer (Jamie) Calkins of Portland, OR; granddaughter Jenny (Brian) Reilly of Louisville, KY and great granddaughter Caroline Reilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald December 31, 2019, brothers Lloyd, Kenneth, Claude and Francis Aylsworth, sister Laura Harper, brother in law Jack Calkins and daughter in law Judy Calkins. No Services will be held.
