Robert J. Cross

Robert J. Cross age 88, of Crystal, formerly of Carson City, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Sparrow Carson Hospital in Carson City. He was born April 30, 1928 in Holland, the son of Michael & Myrtle (Chrispel) Cross. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Carson City, the Carson City American Legion Post #380 and was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. Robert is survived by his wife Bonnie; children Robert Cross of Elm Hall, Mark & (Denise) Cross of Illinois, Joseph & (Ann) Cross of Sumner and Cindi Donley of Zeeland; grandchildren Nicholas Cross, Shannon & (Zach) Morerod, Lindsay & (Scott) Hartman and Ryan & (Ashley) Donley; 6 great grandchildren and his sister Joyce Shear of Farewell. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Matthew, Stephen and Elizabeth, his siblings Virginia, Nancy, Mary Ann, Ronald, Roland and Michael, son in law Brian Donley and his brother in law Don Shear. Funeral Mass will be 2 PM Sunday, May 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Carson City, celebrated by Fr. Lou Anderson. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives from 12:30 till the Mass at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
