Richard A. Waldorf age 74 of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his grandson’s home under the care of Spectrum Hospice. He was born September 12, 1941 in Greenville, the son of Alvin & Maude (Calkins) Waldorf. He was a veteran of the US Navy during Vietnam, was a life member of the Sheridan VFW, member of the Greenville American Legion Post #101, attended Shiloh Community Church, worked at Oakfield Fire & Rescue since 1985 and retired as captain in 2002. He also retired from General Motors in Lansing in 1997, then worked fulltime with the Lansing Mercy Ambulance in Hastings, where he became an EMT in 1991. Richard is survived by his mother Maude Waldorf of Greenville; daughters Sandra Jo Waldorf of Gladwin and Stephanie Waldorf of Stuart, Florida; son Richard Waldorf, II of Greenville; 11 grandchildren Bo, Timothy, Tara, Cory, Kodiak, Kelly Noel, Matthew, Aaron, Charlie, Alex and Kaylynn; 6 great grandchildren Logan, Ashton, Ella, Aubrey, Mia and Erin; sisters and brothers in law Barbara & (Jim) Barber of Belding, Nancy & (Mick) Stearns of Fenwick and Debbie & (Ken) Johnson of Florida. He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Waldorf and his sister Linda Rich. Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM Monday, November 30, 2015. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with Military Services taking place right after the funeral at the Marshall Funeral Home by the American Legion Post #101. Burial will be in Oakfield Cemetery. Those wishing to make a contribution in Richards name are asked to consider the needs of Richards family.
