Richard L. Skowron of Belding has passed away on Dec 1st, 2016 from a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was surrounded by family and loving help of hospice. He is a man full of laughter, love and a heart as big as the world. Always a shining star that made a smile on anyone’s face. He was preceded in death by his Mother Evelyn Spitler and Brother Ralph Spitler. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Sherrie Skowron, daughter Eulanda & (Al) Wonsey, daughter Christina & (Dustin) Skowron, Son Irish Robert & (Casey) Welch, Daughter Violet & (Bill) Hutson; sisters and brothers and his special friends Jo and John Sherman & Family, Fred Moore and John Kenny. He leaves behind nine Grandchildren, Terry Gunther, Kevin Wonsey, Jordan Birdsley, Austin Birdsley, Trenton Wonsey, Mickyla Welch, Ryleigh Welch, and Jayden Skowron who was Grandpa's little sidekick and buddy. Four Great Grandchildren, Serenity Gunther, Remington Gunther, Abel Gunther, Savannah Wonsey. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, doing puzzles, models, stock car racing, golfing, fishing, sports, outdoor life (flowers and gardening) He was a avid cribbage and card player. He was also a member of the Belding VFW. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made through Marshall funeral home. As requested there will be a private memorial but donations from others can be followed to the above. Dear Loving Father, hear this prayer, I pray now for our Dad. Thank you for his life, for without him, We would not exist. Thank you for the times when he cared for us and held us. Thank you for the lessons learned by his examples, and his mistakes. Oh Loving father, Bless our Dad, Bless his soul. For when Dad failed let us forgive him and love him. As you love him through your spirit heal the wounds between us. Dear loving lord you are Father to us all, Spread out your mercy over all Fathers, Daughters and Son’s. For the glory of your Son Jesus Christ. In his holy name. AMEN, Love you Dad, Eulanda, Christina, Robert and Violet. Memorial contributions can be made in Richard’s name to the Belding VFW.
