Olga D. Garcia

Olga D. Garcia age 74 of Gowen, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, October 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 18, 1948, in Harlingen, Texas, the daughter of Filemon, Sr. & Maria (Gonzalez) DeLaFuente.  Olga was a cowgirl at heart, a loving, caring, mother, grandmother, and the queen. As the queen, she was the one that held the family together. She was an avid lover of the casino, Goodwill, and all things Elvis Presley. Olga would begin every day with a fresh egg and cheese biscuit from Burger King. Never scared to tell you what’s on her mind, she never shied from helping others. You would never leave her house hungry or without food. Olga is survived by her daughter Angela (Juan) Cedillo, grandchildren; Michael DeLaFuente, Roman (Justina) Andrade, Luna DeLaFuente, Domenic Cedillo. Brothers, Felix (Judy) DeLaFuente, Filemon Jr (Caroline) DeLaFuente, Jose DeLaFuente, Francisco DeLaFuente, Arturo DeLaFuente and Tony DelaFuente; sister Virginia (Larry) Miller; longtime friend, Benedicta Cortez and numerous nieces and nephews. Olga is proceeded in death by parents Filemon, Sr. and Maria DeLaFuente, brother, Carlos DeLaFuente, sisters, Irma DeLaFuente, Maria Viera, Celia DeLaFuente. Funeral will be 11 AM Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Greenville, celebrated by Fr. Tom Brown.  Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville and from 10 AM till the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made in Olga’s name to Guiding Light.
