Nancy J. Johnson

Nancy J. Johnson age 73, of Cedar Springs passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at home under the care of Interim Hospice. She was born September 1, 1947 in Sewickley Valley Pennsylvania, the daughter of Fred and Mary Dixon. Nancy was a retired middle school math, social studies and science teacher for the Greenville Public School System and then was a substitute teacher for four years at Cedar Springs for Kindergarten, first grade and second grade. She was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Cedar Springs, was elected to the Michigan Golf Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010, the Greenville High School Hall of Fame in 2019, was the Greenville Girls golf coach for 25 years and cheerleading coach for 10 years. Davey and his family would like to extend a special thanks to Interim Hospice for their wonderful help. Nancy is survived by her husband Davey; children Davey Johnson, Jr. of Cedar Springs, Mark T. Johnson of Grand Rapids and Darcy J. Johnson of Cedar Springs; 5 grandchildren Aiden, Cassidy, Ben, Evalynn and Emberlee; brother Tom (Elizabeth) Dixon of Colorado and David (Roxanne) Dixon of Georgia; aunt Hazel Dixon of Pennsylvania; uncle Jim Kistler of Minnesota. Members of the family will meet with friends and family on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 4 to 5 PM and 7 to 8 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 limit of 25 people, friends may visit with friends and family and respectfully use your time so that others may do the same. Masks will be required. Funeral Memorial Mass will be 10 AM Wednesday March 10, 2021 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Cedar Springs, presided by Fr. Lam Le. Masks will be required. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Harvard. Memorial contributions in Nancy’s name are suggested to Interim Hospice. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville.
