Nancy Kay (Copas) Fries, age 76, passed away peacefully under hospice care and with family by her side on January 26, 2025. She was born in Greenville, Michigan to Paul and Virginia (Nelson) Copas on October 10, 1948. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her 4 siblings, and C. Bartelle Fries to whom she was married to for 20 years. She is survived by children Alicia (Marty) Martinez, Scott (Renee) Fries and Randy (Terri) Fries as well as seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, two nephews, one niece and a wide circle of loving friends and neighbors. Nancy worked for Gibson/Frigidaire her entire working life and retired in 2003 after 36 years of service. She was a member of The American Legion, Post #101, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 4321, and the Moose Lodge 1939 all located in Greenville, Michigan. Many of the Greenville community will remember Nancy especially for her volunteerism for many years at the American Legion. She enjoyed a good game of golf, bowling, shuffleboard, keno and listening to country music. All these activities were enjoyed with a close circle of friends that she loved dearly. Nancy was a champion for all animals. No furry creature would go hungry in Nancy’s world whether they be wild, feral or domesticated. The family will have a time of visitation at Marshall Funeral Home at 420 West Grove Street, Greenville, MI from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Monday, February 3, 2025. with A Celebration of Life 11 AM, officiated by Pastor Ed Milam. Cremation has occurred and a private graveside service will not occur until a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Nancy’s name to either The American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or Cannonsville Critters (cannonsvillecritters.org).
