Marvin A. Petersen

Marvin A. Petersen age 86, of Stanton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Corewell Spectrum Health Hospital in Greenville. He was born August 9, 1936, in Sidney, the son of Oscar C. & Frances L. (Vierk) Petersen. He was a 1955 graduate of Stanton High School. He began his career at Basom Motor Sales, then service writer at Bookwalter Motor Sales and retired as Skilled Trade Maintenance from Frigidaire (Gibsons). He also worked many years at Crawford Farms. Marvin enjoyed John Deere tractors and farming his land.  Marvin was a kind and gentle man, that was the best husband, father and grandpa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  Marvin married Connie Yeomans on August 2, 1958. He is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Becky (Kenneth) Ravell of Belding; son Curtis (Dana) Petersen of Stanton; five grandchildren Jeremy (Lisa) Petersen of Ionia, Bill (Jessica) Ravell of Belding, Callie Petersen & (Cody Dingman) of Riverdale, Amanda (Jason) Hammis of Saginaw and Samantha Batshon of Muskegon; nine great grandchildren Gavin, Madelynn, Charlotte, Olivia, Lucas, Piper, Aleigh, Arabella and Eli.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carolyn Stimer and his brother Wallace Petersen. There will be no visitation. Private Graveside Services will be held later. Memorial contributions can be made in Marvin’s name to Clay Street Center. Donations may be delivered or mailed to Marshall Funeral Home or Clay Street Center.
