Mark E. Nichols

Mark E. Nichols age 73, of Flat Rock, passed away at his daughters home in Greenville on August 19, 2024. He was born August 4, 1951 in Hudson, Michigan, the son of Carl A. & Eloise M. (Winzeler) Nichols. Mark was a dedicated son, and father who worked as an over the road truck driver, enjoyed spending time most of all fishing, hunting, being outdoors, eating meals at local restaurants, spending quality time with daughters & granddaughter, and was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. Mark is survived by his daughters Maranda (Matthew) Dittrich of Greenville and Marissa Nichols of Grand Rapids; granddaughter Ariel Cruz; father Carl Nichols, Sr. of Flat Rock; brother Carl Jr. (Linda) Nichols of Indiana; nephews Jeremy and Aaron; niece Stephanie; uncle Lester Nichols of Adrian and Susan Howell, the mother of Maranda and Marissa. He was preceded in death by his mother Eloise Nichols and his fiance Terry Lemon.Although, Ariel never had the chance to ride his beloved boat she still felt her mark on it, proudly displaying the name in decals that read 'Papas Boat' a constant reminder of the love they shared.When it mattered most his daughters were able to be by his side, holding his hand & cherishing the last moments. Marks love for his family was his greatest pride & joy. He adored his granddaughter, who brought him immense joy adoring her with every fiber of his being. Marks gruff demeanor, sarcastic wit, & unwavering commitment to being true to himself will truly be missed.Military Graveside Services will be Noon Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian.
