Leo F. Marshall age 93, of Greenville passed away Wednesday September 11, 2024 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans under the care of Interim Hospice. He was born June 9, 1931 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Thomas and Helen (Nowak) Marshall. Leo was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Greenville Optimist Club, American Legion Post #101 of Greenville, served in the Korean War in the United States Navy, life member of the 40et8. He worked for Coca Cola and pursued the funeral industry in Grand Rapids and Midland. He moved his family to Greenville in 1965, where he worked side by side with his wife Lee when they purchased the Marshall Funeral Home in 1967. He loved going out to breakfast and doing crossword puzzles with his wife, hunting, fishing, riding his scooter around Greenville and on the trails, traveling in their motorhomes and camping and flying his kites at the Grand Haven State Park. He learned how to play golf from his sons and continued to play at the Greenville Country Club where he also served a term of presidency. His community involvement was dear to him as he co-chaired the building of the former track at Greenville High School and later was inducted in the Inaugural Class of the Greenville High School Hall of Fame. Leo is survived by his three sons and daughters in law, Jeff (Sally) Marshall of Greenville, Doug Marshall of Greenville, Dan (Jennifer) Marshall of Cadillac; grandchildren Jessie (James) Freed of Port Huron, Allison Marshall (Rob Williams) of Woodland, Molly (Ian) McCausland of Wheaton, Illinois, Kelsey (Cody) Corbelli, Abby Marshall (Eddy Sak) and Zachary (Larkin) Marshall all of Chicago, Illinois, Kaleigha (Tucker) Stipe of Palmetto Bay, Florida and Alex (Kelsey) Marshall of Caledonia; great grandchildren Lucy and Annie Freed, Dakota, McCoy, Oakley and Clooney McCausland, Oscar and Ansel Williams, Declan, Mylo and Bodi Stipe; sister Maxine Scott of Comstock Park; sister in law Shirley Baker of Walker, and brother in laws Ronald Robinson of Orleans and George Hendricks of Kalamazoo; many nieces, nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lee Marshall, in laws Stanley & Dorothy Robinson, sister and brothers in law Barbara & Jack Rozema, Marvin Robinson, Larry Baker and Vera Hendricks and great grandson Charlie Danger Williams. Visitation will be 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Monday September 16, 2024 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, with visitation from 10 AM till the Mass. Burial will take place in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, with Full Military Honors. Memorial contributions can be made in Leo's name to Greenville Optimist Club or St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
