Kay E. Plante

Kay E. Plante, 81, of Greenville, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, babysitter, neighbor, and friend to many. Kay was born to the late Henry J. & Eva M. (Hadcock) Gillett on April 7, 1942 in Wolcott, New York. Kay spent her life caring for others through her work in, and outside, of her home. She will be fondly remembered for creating a family where everyone felt welcome by her genuine interest in their lives and her generosity. Kay is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rich and their children Kimberly (Mike) Wierda of Sidney, Allan (Pam) Wierda of Wyoming, Shane (Kire) Wierda of Greenville, Kara Plante of Chicago, Kristi (Brennan) Jeffrey of Sheridan; Brian Schultz, Ronald Plante and Beth Plante all of Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Sue Gillett, and brother-in-law, Dic Lasher of New York; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and multiple generations of children who became family. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Daniel Plante, and her siblings Upton Gillett, Polly (Tom) Mitchell and Star Lasher. A lite luncheon for a time to gather and share memories will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Montcalm Township Hall in Greenville, MI. A private burial will take place at Monroe Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Kay would love for you to buy a winning lottery ticket in her memory.
