Katie L. Hansen age 78, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at her home. She was born December 12, 1935 in George, Iowa, the daughter of John K. & Etta (Janssen) DeBerg. She loved to cook and entertain, her specialties were homemade bread, pies and jams, loved crocheting, bird watching, gambling, garage sales, bargain shopping and loved her family and friends. Katie is survived by her daughters and son in laws Karol & (Mike) Fletcher of Pasadena, Texas and Kathy & (Fred) Korson of Greenville; son and daughter in law Kevin & (Leann) Petersen of Greenville; 10 grandchildren Michael and Kenneth Fletcher, of Texas, Angela Korson, Staci & (Ben) Roberson and Tanner Morris of Greenville, Lisa & (Tom) Day and Alec Petersen of Gowen, Kacie & (Jack) Fisk of Sand Lake, Britney & (Jacob) Hardin of Belding and Erica Morris of Grand Rapids; 8 great grandchildren Tatum Fletcher, Tre and Alexis Nelson, Madyson McAlvey, Noah and Katelyn Day, Brodee and Braycen Roberson; 2 brothers and sisters in law Arvin & (Geraldine) DeBerg of Belding and Donald & (Leona) Kruger of Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Kenneth Petersen on August 9, 1992 and her second husband Marvin Hansen on July 17, 2013 and her brothers John, Ira, Merle and Frank Kruger and her sisters Elva Steenhoven and Hazel Grotluschen. Memorial Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, officiated by Pastor Kim DeLong of the Turk Lake United Methodist Church. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Little Denmark Cemetery. Private family visitation was held. Memorial contributions can be made in Katie's name to the Turk Lake United Methodist Church.
