Kathleen D. Wenger

Kathleen D. Wenger age 84, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born February 16, 1931 in Niles Michigan, the daughter of Russell and Edith (Brown) Harold. A graduate of Niles High School in 1950, Kathleen enjoyed sewing, knitting and doing seamstress work for friends and family. Cooking was always a passion and with husband Daniel they enjoyed dining with friends which they called the Greenville Supper Club. She was the owner of the Wengers 5 and 10 store in Greenville with her husband Daniel for many years, was in charge of membership and bookkeeper for the Greenville City Club, and a former employee of the Reliable Hardware store in Greenville. Kathleen’s professional life was very much devoted to downtown Greenville. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband Daniel D. Wenger and her parents. Surviving are her children Pastor John & (Karin) Wenger of Wakefield, MI; Richard & (Toni) Wenger of Stanton; Daniel Wenger II of Greenville and Kathleen A. & (Vernon) Male of Greenville; 7 grandchildren Jennifer Wenger, James & (Danielle) Wenger, Lorien Wenger & (Laura Jacobs), Sean Jordan & (Katrina Barkley), Ryan Wenger, Dannielle & (Kurt) Jaworski and Darrick Molitor; 10 great grandchildren; sister Mary Boettcher and brother Donald Harold both of Niles. Funeral & Committal Services will be 11 AM Friday, February 5, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Donald Spachman officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will take place later at Rest Haven Memory Gardens. In place of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Spectrum Health Foundation Hospice.
