Kathleen J. “Katie” Skorna Petersen age 54, of Greenville, passed away at her home on December 24, 2015. She was born May 12, 1961 in Alma, the daughter of Steve P. & Charlene G. (Platz) Skorna. She was a former dispatcher for the Greenville Public Safety, a nanny for many children and a member of Spencer Mills Church. Katie is survived by her daughter Sarah & (John Lowery) Sanders of Hubbardston; son Kyle & (Amanda) Sanders of Beaverton; 6 grandchildren Haylei, Remington, Meah and Pyper Schaefer and Ryleigh and Payton Sanders; mother Charlene & (Bob) Cottrell of Gowen; adopted parents Chuck & (Diane) Petersen of Trufant; siblings Stephanie Rooker of Ft. Worth, Texas, Karen Siberten of Grand Rapids, Steve & (Barbara) Skorna of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Skorna of Muskegon, Michael & (Tonya) Skorna of Cedar Springs, Michelle Thompson of Wyoming, Michigan and Caroline & (Steven) Clark of Gowen; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Steve Skorna, uncle Joseph Skorna and a niece Tiffany Stewart. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Spencer Mills Church, with Pastor Alan Flowers officiating. Visitation also be on Wednesday from 9 AM till the services at the church. Burial will be in Trufant Cemetery.
