Katherine (Kate) I. Broomfield

Katherine (Kate) I. Broomfield age 91, of Greenville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Green Acres of Greenville under the care of Corewell Spectrum Hospice. She was born November 11, 1931 in Greenville, the daughter of Orion H. & Irene B. (Scherer) Blumberg. Kate was employed by Meijer in Greenville for 25 years. After her retirement she and her husband enjoyed many trips and adventures in their RV including 2 summers in Alaska as well as summers in the Upper Peninsula at the lake in Curtis. They also spent several winters in Florida. She loved to crochet making afghans for everyone in the family, crossword puzzles, traveling, casino trips, playing cards and participated in Red Hats. Katherine is survived by her daughters Marcia Krause of Greenville and Kathy (Roger) Guild of Spring Grove, Illinois; son Mike (Lorrie) Broomfield of Crystal; eleven grandchildren Jeri Lake & (Brent Doty), Patrick Lake, Jay (Denise) Lake, Tami (Joe) Saur, Gary (Stacey) Krause, Ginger (Mike) Weber, Greg (Tarina) Krause, Aubrey (Dan) Fechalos, Shaun (Joanna) Guild, Shalon (Don) Leschman and Chad (Amy) Broomfield; 28 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; brothers Carl (Sandy) Blumberg of Greenville and Roger (Barb) Blumberg of Greenville and her sister in law Pam Broomfield of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Broomfield, daughter Sharon Lake, brother Harold Blumberg, sister Ruth Finkbeiner, brothers in law Bob (JoAnn) Broomfield and Harry Broomfield, sister in law Anna Belle (Robert) Williams and her parents. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11 AM Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Marshall Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 10 AM till the funeral. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.
