Joyce G. Rees

Joyce G. Rees age 79, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her home under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born July 16, 1936 in Lakeview, the daughter of Richard & Agnes (Cooper) Helms. She was a member of the Turk Lake United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 101, was involved in square dancing with the Star Promanaders and was a member of various western square dance clubs. She retired from Electolux after 17 years. Joyce is survived by her husband Richard; children Vicki & (Ira) Norman of Greenville, Ben & (Marilyn) Rees of Gowen, daughter-in-law Mary Lou Rees of Grand Rapids, Louise & (Mike) Nelson of Greenville, and Kenneth Rees of Oklahoma; Special friend of the family Rubette Olsen; grandchildren Lyndy & (Barry) Harrison, Justin & (Cindi) Rees, Cody & (Mary) Rees, Heather Evans, Jeremy Norman, Daniel Norman, Britton Rees and Riley Rees; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Harry & (Maxine) Helms of Lakeview and sister Jane Eldred of Blanchard; sister-in-law Vera Helms of Trufant. She was preceded in death by her son Ernest D. Rees and her brothers and sisters. Funeral & Committal Services will be 12 NOON Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Turk Lake United Methodist Church, with Rev. Madelyn Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the Marshall Funeral Home and from 11 AM till the funeral at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions can be made in Joyce’s name to Heartland Hospice or the Turk Lake United Methodist Church.
