John S. Webb age 82, of Rockford, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home under the care of Heartland Hospice. He was born May 20, 1935 in Detroit, the son of Roland A. & Alice K. (Senogles) Webb. He was a Green Bay Packers and a Detroit Tiger fan and worked at General Motors in Grand Rapids for 25 years. John is survived by his wife Linda; children David & (Jerri) Webb of Kent City, Dawn Parmeter & (Eddie Owens) of Vero Beach, Florida, Karen & (Duane) Stanley of Rockford; Richard & (Sherrie) Webb of Cedar Springs; Steven & (Nicole) Herron of Harrison Township and Michael & (Elsa) Herron of Bakersfield, California; 15 grandchildren Sara & (Adam), Jacob, Megan, Ashley & (Nick), Aaron, Dana & (Duke), Andy & (Lacey), Kelsey & (Cody), Ian, Sara, Ana, Sofia, Jack, Logan and Brooklyn; 10 great grandchildren Kendall, Avery, Cash, Calvin, Caleb, Cody, Mason, Jaxson, Heidi and Derek; sister Kathleen VanDusen of Mio; brother Michael & (Anne) Webb of Tennessee; brother in law Wayne & (Kathy) Platt of Greenville. He was preceeded in death by his parents Roy & Alice Webb, first wife Virginia Webb, brother in law Ken VanDusen and his nephew Mark VanDusen. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey VanWingen and the care from Heartland Hospice. Memorial Services will be 4 PM Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with members of the family meeting with friends and relatives starting at 3 PM. Memorial contributions can be made in John’s name to Heartland Hospice.
