Joanna Johnson

Joanna Johnson age 83, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015. She was born Joanna Ribble on April 30, 1932, the daughter of Lee & Bernice (Sharp) Ribble. Joanna is survived by her children, Cynthia Parr (Steven Gagnon) of Greenville, Jillian Blair (Todd Helmer) of Cedar Springs and Orville Powell of Florida; stepson Jerry Johnson of Lansing; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Peter Ribble of Johanasburg; sister Isabelle Claflin of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald L. Johnson whom she married on March 14, 1959, sister Doris Mulkey, grandsons Cory & Linsey Parr and her brother in law Lawrence Claflin. She was a lifelong resident of Stanton and Clifford Lake area, formerly owned and operated Johnson AFC Home in Stanton for 30 years, loved crosswords and her TV shows and going out for dinner with her husband and friends. She was a former member of Stanton First Baptist Church and Hope Lutheran Church also in Stanton. Funeral & Committal Services will be 11 AM Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday from 10 AM till the services. Burial will be in North Sidney Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the funeral home services.
