​Jean L. Smith

Jean L. Smith age 87 of Greenville, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at home under the care of Elara Hospice. She was born August 1, 1933 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Thadeous & Helen (Bishop) Lorenski. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Stanton American Legion Post # 452. Her and Loren were loyal Belding High School football fans, she loved listing to the band at half time. They loved the outdoors deer hunting and trout fishing together. Her and Loren didn't let any grass grow under their feet. They traveled all over the United States and spent many winters in Florida. She had tons of stories to share about their adventures. She was selfless and had a heart of gold. She will be missed dearly by many. Jean is survived by her children Judy (Roger) Willmore of Stanton, Vicky Lance of Belding and Ted Bishop of Orleans, Linda Lund of Sawyer, Brenda Wilson of Niles, Debbie (Bob) Domke of Indiana, Robin Sheldon of Wyoming, Shawn Raymond of Newfoundland and Mike Smith, Scott Smith; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Riggs, father Thadeous Lorenski, first husband Victor R. Bishop, second husband Loren H. Smith, daughter Kathy Johnson and her infant brother Edward Lorenski. Per Jean’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville.
