JaNell E. Powell age 69, of Gowen passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024 at home under the care of Corewell Hospice. She was born November 11, 1954 in Greenville, the daughter of William H. & Marian E. (Helms) Bills. In her earlier years she was a farmer, then later she worked for Meijer, Town and Country Animal Clinic, and Admiral Gas Station. She dedicated a lot of her time with 4-H clubs in Montcalm and Kent Counties. She loved traveling to goat shows around the midwest. She especially loved her family and friends. JaNell had one son with Richard Powell Jr of Hixson, TN. JaNell is survived by her son Kevin L. Powell of Greenville; two grandsons Vincent Lee Powell and Max Alden Powell; partner Richard Huber; brothers and sisters Ben Lee (Sue) Bills of Gowen, Carolyn (Ralph) Warren of Fenton, Roy (Sharon) Kennedy of Evert, John Kennedy of Rapid City, Kermit Coston of Fenwick, Jo Jean (Ken) Eastman of Gowen, Pat Coston of Fenwick, Jackie Coston of Belding, Becky Coston of Mesa, AZ and Rodney Coston of Fenwick. She is also survived by her niece Terry Lynn (Mark) McCracken; nephew William Andrew (Jenny Becher) Bills, special aunt and uncles Francis and Dixie Helms and Bob Kraft; several other nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews and special friends Cheryl Garcia and Janet (Dan) Rasmussen. She was preceded in death by her father William Henry Bills, step mother Mary Jane Bills, mother Marian Elizabeth Coston, step father Richard Lee Coston, brother William Terry Bills and her aunt Martha Kraft. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, officiated by Pastor Ed Milan of the First Congregational Church. Visitation will be from 10 AM till the service on Saturday. Burial will be in West Montcalm Cemetery (Wolverton Plains).
