James Edward "Jim" Bailey

James Edward “Jim” Bailey age 71, of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at home under the care of Faith Hospice. He was born March 20, 1952 in Grand Rapids, the son of Donald W. & Doris J. (Wyma) Bailey. He loved his cocktail hour of Crown Royal at 4:45 pm, graduated from Greenville High School in 1970, received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Black Hills State University in Rapid City, SD and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Jim is survived by his partner Martin “Mike” Lihan of Grand Rapids, brothers Larry (Donna) Bailey of Augusta, Georgia, Dave (Kathye) Bailey of Greenville and Doug (Gail) Bailey of Kentwood; sister Susan (Lynn) Calhoun of Grand Rapids; 10 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; 4 great great nephews; special friends Donald Gachter of Vickeryville and Troy Guinn of Chicago. The family extends a special thanks to Zach of Faith Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald & Doris Bailey; brother William Bailey and his dogs Gus and Sam. Graveside services will be held later at Fairplains Cemetery Grand Rapids.
