Hollis J. Strohmier age 89, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born February 9, 1932, in Goodland, Kansas, the son of Cornelius J. & Dora D. (Schoonover) Strohmier. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War in the US Army, member of the Eagles #4321, Belding VFW, American Legion Post #101 of Greenville, had worked many years as a carpet installer for Larry Northtown and Don’s Carpet and loved his time spent in the garden at the Anderson Farm. Hollis is survived by his children Susan Lucht of Rockford, Pam Wilkie of Rockford and Neil Strohmier of Tampa, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother and sister in law Don & Elaine Strohmier of Mt. Pleasant, close friend Crissy Anderson and many nieces nephews and other friends. He was preceded in death by is parents, siblings, Beverley, Herbert, Charles, Richard and Rosa and his close friend Bryan Anderson. Funeral & Committal Services will be 11 AM Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 10 AM till the funeral. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery (Chubbuck Cemetery) in Kent City. Memorial contributions can be made in Hollis’s name to the Eagles Lodge #4321.
