Helen M. Ostrander

Helen M. Ostrander age 74, passed away April 21, 2022 with her family at her side in DeWitt. Helen was a lover of all nature. She loved hiking with friends and caving. She had a great talent for drawing, loved Michael Jackson music and was a professional clown (Monkeyshines). Helen took pride in her career as a substance abuse counselor and loved her job at The Blueridge Youth Facility for Boys. Helen is survived by her children Anne (Dion) Edwards and Richard Duceatt; sisters Emma Moyer, Linda Golden, Shirley Anderson and Zelma Ostrander; brothers Jim, Don, Harold and Larry Ostrander; special son in laws Don Edwards and Ernie Hawkins; grandchildren Lynn (Travis) Smith, Merrill Edwards II, Tiffany (Tyler) Carpenter and Kalie Edwards; great grandchildren Elon, Skilar, Isabella, Henry, Annabelle, Alexander, Gabriel and Merrill Edwards III. She is preceded by her mother Sylvia Moyer, dad Elon Moyer, father James Ostrander, son Matthew Duceatt, brothers Michael Elon Moyer, Terry Moyer, John Ostrander and Paul Ostrander and her sisters Carol and Pauline Ostrander. Private services will be held later. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, World Wildlife Fund or ASPCA.
