Helen E. Hansen

Helen Eleanor Hansen, age 99, of Greenville passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at home under the care of Corewell Hospice. She was born August 3, 1924 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Claude O. & Daisy M. (Harrison) Hoover. She farmed the family farm along with her husband L.A. and enjoyed gardening, playing cards, family gatherings and numerous casino trips. She served as an officer in both the Montcalm County Farmers Union and the Danish Sisterhood, for which she received a certificate for 70 years of Faithful and Devoted Service. In addition she was an officer in the Fairplain Ladies Aide Society. In the 43rd annual Danish Festival she served as Grand Marshal with her husband, “L.A.”. Helen is survived by her daughter and son in law Sheila and (Paul) Sharrow of Sheridan; two grandchildren Noah (Rita) Sharrow of West Bloomfield and Caleb (Kade) Sharrow of Haslett and four great grandchildren Milin, Rohin, Alexandria and Grayson Sharrow. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Daisy Hoover, husband Lawrence “L.A.” Hansen, sisters Irene Pretz, Betty Hansen and her brother Lawrence Hoover. A memorial Service will be held at a later date.
