Garrett Reer Jr.

Garrett Reer Jr. age 89, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at home, surrounded by his wife and two daughters. He was born June 20, 1930, the son of Garrett & Rena E, (Race) Reer, Sr. He loved working and especially loved interacting with everyone in the communities he was a part of both in Greenville and Trufant and was a Recruiter for the National Guards. He was the owner of Reer and Son Well Drilling which was established in 1926 by his father. Gary is survived by his wife, of 70 years, Nancy Louise Reer. He is also survived by his two daughters, Jackie L. Gibbons and Judy (Louis) DeVore; four grand kids, Trever L. Husted (Brenda Salas), Jeremy Cooper (Jodi Marvin), Spencer DeVore (Jody Nielsen), and Brittany L. Gibbons; 9 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, sister in law Judy (Dick) Burns; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Garrett Reer Sr., mother Rena E. Race-Reer, sister Mary Ann Betser, mother in law Vivian Winters, and his brother in law Gary Olson. Private visitation and funeral services will be held due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the extended Stay-At-Home Executive Order. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. An outdoor Celebration of His Life will be held in the summer.
