Edward Jack “Eddie” Newhouse

Edward Jack “Eddie” Newhouse age 61, of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015. He was born December 21, 1953 in Grand Rapids, the son of Edward J. & Evelyn L. (Herrick) Newhouse. Eddie grew up in the 1960’s in Ada, living in the country, attended a two room schoolhouse, enjoyed the outdoors, had many friends who all loved him, had a love for music, was a walking reference with a profound knowledge of music, bands and players, devoted himself to his lifelong partner Mary Beth Hopkins, who did everything together with him. He is survived by his sister and brother in law Heidi & (Paul) Barron of Ada; nieces Krystle Barron of Lowell and Julie & (T.J.) Matthew of Ada; great nephews Bronson and Bennett Laux of Lowell. He was preceded in death by his parents who have now greeted him at Heavens Gate. Memorial contributions can be made in Eddie's name to the West Michigan Humane Society. A celebration of his life will take place at NOON Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Church of the Servant, 3835 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Visitation will take place from 11 AM to NOON at the church.
