Duane E. Olmstead age 77, formerly of Greenville MI, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was born July 18, 1944 in Evart MI. He was raised in Ludington, was a member of Spencer Mills Church for 10 years, a devoted Christian, father of 5, custodian for Greenville Public Schools for over 20 years and had retired from the United States Navy. Duane is survived by his children Mary Ann Ogle & (Christopher) of Greenville; Sherry (Pat) Tauchus of Scottsville, Timothy Olmstead of Scottsville, Mellisa (Dale) Bufka of Battle Creek. Grand daughters Alexandria Garant, Cait Bufka, Mariah Tauchus. Grand sons Caleb Bufka, Jeremiah Tauchus, and Timothy Olmstead Jr. along with 2 great grandchildren; brother Raymond Gustafson of Michigan; sister Polly Oliver of Three Rivers, niece Faye (David) Kyser of Cedar springs, Nephew Stephen (Lillian) Lessard of Greenville, Gary (Judy) Sturdavant of Edmore, and many other loved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother in law Mary Rae of Florida; sisters in law Barb Rae of Florida, Mary Jo DeBauche and Nancy Rae both of Wisconsin and Carroll Lalinski of Dearborn and his brother in law John Rae, Jr. of Ludington. He is preceded in death by his parents Elwyn & Betty (Love) Olmstead of Ludington and son Jason Michael Olmstead, wife Marjorie Olmstead, brothers Bruce Thompson, Monte Thompson and Miles Sturdavant; sisters Mary Lessard, Virginia Sturdavant and Betty Shull.  A Celebration of Life with Full Military Honors will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Greenville First Church of God, with members of the family meeting with friends and relatives starting at 10 AM.  A Luncheon will follow immediately after the services at the church.  Burial will take place later at Reynolds Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with complete obituary online at www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com where you can leave a message of condolence for the family.
