Doris E. Long

Doris E. Long age 80, of Edmore, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice. She was born December 26, 1937 in Alma, the daughter of Floyd E. & Melissa H. (Meyer) Woodrow. She was a former member of the Ferris Church of Christ, retired from the Ionia Reformatory Corrections Unit in Ionia after 11 years, was an avid doll collector and was loving and kind to everyone. Doris is survived by her son Arthur “Archie” Long of Edmore, grandson Michael & (Eve) Long of Mt. Pleasant; 2 grandchildren Emily and Erin Long; sisters Rose Peck of St. Louis and Donna Eastman of Washington and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Matthew and Steven Long; brothers Bob & Eugene Woodrow and her sisters Janet Atherton and Margaret Carrol Bitterman. Memorial Services will be 1 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Ferris Church of Christ, 3443 N. Crystal Road, Vestaburg, Mi 48891, with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place later in Crystal Cemetery.
