Donald E. Calkins

Donald E. Calkins age 92, of Greenville passed away Tuesday December 31, 2019 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born September 20, 1927 in Grand Rapids the son of Howard and Mildred (Jones) Calkins. On March 4, 1949 he married Shirley Aylsworth in Greenville. Together they enjoyed 70 years of marriage living in the Greenville area. Don was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean war. He was employed by Federal Mogul Corporation in Greenville for 29 years. Don was a fan of the Detroit Tigers for many years and was thrilled to attend 2 games of the 1984 world series at Tiger Stadium. He also enjoyed the many pets the family had through the years. Donald is survived by his wife Shirley; son and daughter in law Rick (Bobbi) Calkins of Louisville, KY; Grandson Spencer (Jamie) Calkins of Portland, OR; granddaughter Jenny (Brian) Reilly of Louisville, KY and great granddaughter Caroline Reilly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack Calkins and daughter in law Judy Calkins. No Services will be held.
