Deloris A. Swainston , age 83 of Sheridan, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Laurels of Kent in Lowell under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born November 13, 1938, the daughter of Earl & Ilah (Taylor) Wernette. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church in Carson City and loved to sew, read, go on long drives, loved her church and St. Jude’s Hospital, going for an occasional hamburger at the Hogs Head and had a fantastic sense of humor. Deloris is survived by her children Gay Dora of Sheridan, Tam Garcia of Texas, Kim Swainston & Dale of Lakeview, Joseph Dora of Ionia and John (Carol) Swainston; grandchildren Bradley Math & Melissa of Rockford, Sonny Dora & Abbey Gainey of Sheridan, Matt & Jessica Dora of Sheridan, Delores Dora of Sheridan, Joshua Swainston of Missouri, Brandy Swainston of Crystal, Jason Hopkins of Sheridan, Jennifer Hopkins of Lakeview, Leslie, Brittany and Josh Garcia of Texas; one very special niece and nephew Scherene & Clinton Rich of Orleans and other nieces and nephews Marcie & Fred Taylor of Sheridan, Chad & Jamie Wernette of Sheridan, Kyle Wernette of Arkansas and Troy Hendrick & Leticia of Florida; several great grandkids, great nieces and nephews; brothers Alden & Kathy Wernette of Sheridan and Phillip & Theresa Wernette of Arkansas; sister Beverley & Frank Markovich of Midland. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Swainston, parents Ilah & Earl Wernette and her sister and brother in law Alta & Bill Hendrick. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St., Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City, celebrated by Fr. Leonard Sudlik. Visitation will be 10 AM till the services at the church. There will be a luncheon after the Mass at the church. Burial will be in held later at the Sheridan Cemetery.
