David Allen Varney

I didn’t get a chance to read the paper today… but they say I’m in it. David Allen Varney, born August 14, 1941 to Raymond and Elberta Varney, but I wasn’t the only… they had 4 others: Sonny, Roger, Marilyn, and Barb. At a young age I started hunting with my dad and uncles. We had deer camp up in Harrison Michigan, we always managed to get some real dandy’s. I cherished the times spent with uncle Leonard Varney. Opening day is coming up, I hope dad’s ready for gun season. I cannot wait to hunt with him again. Besides, hunting I enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing. I was a jack of all trades. I owned DAVE’S BODYSHOP for 20+ years, then opened GREENVILLE AUTO GLASS, which was family ran for 20 years. On June 25, 1966 I married Jean Carol Hilliker… my love… my life…with whom I just celebrated 50 years of marriage with. I married into a family with some pretty good people: Joyce, Jim, and Jack. We had one hell of a ride mama, raising 8 amazing kids… Al (Missy) Helsel, Mark (Eve) Helsel, Roxanne (Brian) Font, Sheri(Gary) Chasten, Michael Varney, Robert Varney, Doug (Iris) Helsel, and Becky (Mike) Rich. And they blessed us with 11 beautiful granddaughters; Heather, Rachelle (Jeff), Brandy (Cory), Sarah (Blake), Amanda (Bobbie), Lacy (Jimmy), Trisha (Mike), Britney (Joe), Shannon (Ty), BreAnna and Mikayla (Jace). We were lucky enough to have 22 great-grandchildren; Shyanne, Taylor, Trista, Akaysha, Keigan, Ty, Dillon, Jenna, Brooklyn, Ethan, Adyson, Kaden, Carter, Daygon, Trenton, Dakota, Corbin, Audrina, Aubreana, Colton, Khloe and Cali. I loved, with my whole heart, each and every one of them. And just like that… on October 31, 2016… my book was closed. All my love, Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Private family funeral will be held.
