Colleen Duncan

Colleen “Cocoa” Duncan age 64, of Sheridan, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at home.  She was born January 4, 1958 in Sarasota, Florida, the daughter of Dick & Nancy (Kellogg) Duncan.  Cocoa used to like to be fishing with Nupe or even watching wrestling, she just loved being with him. She liked Sci-fis's, picnics, campfires, cooking, plants, being warm, ice tea, coffee, cigarettes and smoking weed. Just welcoming anyone, family or not and some strangers became family. Her favorite times were when we were all being together at the kitchen table smoking, talking, laughing or even crying. We can't forget the dogs, Rex, Molly, Bud, and many more. Cats were welcome as well. When Cocoa worked, she was in customer service as a bartender for half her life which she loved. The job she enjoyed most was being mother; mother to many.  Cocoa is survived by her daughter Chyene Duncan/Avery of Sheridan; son in law Chad Scott; grandchildren Steve Avery of Greenville, Nancy Duncan of Sheridan, Christian Scott-Duncan of Stanton, Josclyn Duncan of Sheridan and Logan Harp of Stanton; great grandchildren Gabriel Avery, Nolan Avery, Mylah Harp, Novaleigh Harp, Everlei Avery and Baby Harp on the way; sister Lisa Sibley of Grand Haven; brother Patrick Rinard of Wyoming and her aunt Stacy Duncan of Kentwood.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane C. White, son Joshua Hansen, brother Shawn Duncan, sister in law Bobbie Jo “Maude” White and her in laws Lena and Ezequiel Carapia.  Funeral plans have been changed.  There will now be no services or visitation at the funeral home.  Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday at the Sheridan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family but helping out with expenses.
