Charles “Charlie” Clare Hamilton, III, age 27, of Cedar Springs, passed away Sunday, February 25, 204 at Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids. He was born April 12, 1996 in Grand Rapids, the son of Charles Clare & Susan Kay (Plantenga) Hamilton, II. Charlie had a passion for RC Trucks and would run them through the mud any chance he got. He also enjoyed Monster Jam and got his make-a-wish in 2012 to see the world finals. Also in 2012 thanks to Aron and Ed Kohen, Charlie got his other dream of riding in his dream car the Camaro ZL1. He loved his red 1995 Camaro it was his pride and joy, along with his Ranger. You could find him zooming all over on his wheelchair, which he drove more like a race car. He wasn't too much of a talker unless you got him talking about Cars or Transformers, then he could talk all day. He had a deep love of music and would listen to any type especially country or rock. Everyone that got the pleasure of meeting him, or being in his life knew he was one-of-a kind, wise beyond his years, and always knew what to say when you needed some advice, or just needed someone to talk to. He loved his family beyond words, and spent his life making memories with them, that will forever be cherished, he always made life a little brighter, always our sunshine. Charlie is survived by his parents Chuck & Sue Hamilton, II of Cedar Springs; sister Stefani (Ryan) Brady of Cedar Springs; niece April Brady; aunts Deb (Terry) Avery of Sand Lake, Kim (Malcolm) Davis of Georgia, Frances Satterlee of Newaygo County and Brenda (Andy) Bruinsma of Grand Rapids; uncles John (Diane) Plantenga of Kentwood and Craig Plantenga of Muskegon and his cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold & Lois Plantenga and Charles & Frances Hamilton, I, aunt Sandra Harper and his uncle Cliff Satterlee. A Celebration of his Life will be held later. Memorial contributions in Charlie’s name are suggested to the Make a Wish Foundation.
