Beatrice Hacker, age 88, of Greenville passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte. She was born in Greenville, the daughter of Andrew and "Lizzie" (Taylor) Johnson and a graduate of Greenville High School. Bee married Carl Hacker on November 13, 1943 and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed a variety of crafts, and gifted many friends and relatives with afghans that she had crocheted. Bee was the secretary at Cedar Crest School for 25 years before her retirement in 1985. Carl and Bee enjoyed their retirement years in Dade City, Florida. She was a member of Turk Lake United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter Judy in 1946, her husband Carl in 2003, and her granddaughter Victoria Walter Patterson in 2005. She is survived by her son Jeff of Greenville, daughter and son in law Robin & (Marshall) Walter of Greenville, and her grandson Max (Abby) Walter of Malmo, Sweden. Memorial Services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, officiated by Pastor Kim DeLong of the Turk Lake United Methodist Church. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives one hour before the service. A luncheon will be served at Turk Lake United Methodist Church after the service. Private Family Internment will be held at a later date at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Bee's name to Eaton Community Palliative Care or Turk Lake United Methodist Church.
