Barbara A. Drake of Greenville passed away September 11, 2014 at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville. She graduated from Jackson High School, Stephens College, University of Hawaii in Oahu, University of Michigan where she obtained her Bachelors in Education and also attended 1 year of Grad School in Rackham Hall, was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, University of Michigan Alumni Association, past Supervisor of Eureka Township, Montcalm County Boundary Commission, Secretary of the Montcalm County Republican Party, headed Montcalm County Election Campaign for Milliken and Griffin, chosen volunteer of the month in July 1999. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, served as a Stephens Minister and was on the missions commission, Laura Nicloy Hospital Guild, 20th Century Club, Washington Club, Danish Sisterhood Society, Greenville Area Senior Center, head track judge for boys high school high jump and boys and girls middle school high jump and served on the Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital Foundation Board as one of the founding members. Barb is survived by her son and daughter in law Doug & (Eron) Drake of Greenville; daughter Tracy Drake of Portland, Oregon; granddaughters Eliana and Tailynn Drake of Greenville; cousins Charles Malloch of Webster Groves, Missouri and James & (Annette) Malloch of Port Orange, Florida; nieces Leslie & (Gary) Blair of Rochester, Janet & (Ken) Giambrone of Chicago and Nancy & (Dave) Jordan of Naperville; nephew Geoffery & (Barbara) Hansen of Studio city, California; 8 great nieces and nephews Mark, Paul and Amanda Blair, Molly, Charles and Madeline Jordan and Haley and James Hansen; sisters in law Ruth Ann of Onekama and Susan Baker of Sidney, Ohio and by her brothers in law Michael & (Carol) Drake of Albion and Joel & (Denise) Drake. She was preceded in death by her Husband Earl Paul Drake in 1994, parents Agner & Helen Drake, brother and sister in law James & (Millie) Hansen, sister Helen J. Hansen, aunts and uncles Esther & Charles Malloch and Marjory & William Cotton; cousin in law Nancy Malloch and her brothers in law Steve Drake and Al Baker. Memorial Services will be 11 AM Thursday, September 18 at the Marshall Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Don Spachman. Members of the family will meet with friends and relatives from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. Interment will take place later. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Barbara's name to the Barbara Hansen Drake Scholarship Fund set up at the Greenville Area Community Foundation.
