Arthur Shy

Arthur Shy age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at his home under the care of Elara Hospice.  He was born October 23, 1934 in New Madrid, Missouri, the son of Arthur, Sr. & Mildred (Phillips) Shy.  He served in the United States Army, was a licensed realtor, delivered milk for many years, loved skiing and bowling and was a member of the Crystal Lions Club.  Arthur is survived by his wife Ruth of 29 years; children Janet Shy & (Marty Miller), Betty (Rex) Beracy, Bill (Jenevra) Shy, Mark (Jan) Shy, Scott (Chrissy) Shy and Charles Shy; grandsons Joe Davenport, Mark Shy, Jr., Corey Bullock, Brett Pennell and Dawson Pennell; granddaughters Erin Shy and Kerry Shy; one great grandson Owen Shy; sisters Mary Sue Anton, Clare Winter, Loretta Alexander and Margaret Ruth Shy; several nieces and nephews; sisters in law Lorena (Mark) Austin and Rosemary Hancock; brothers in law Bill Spitler and Robert Skowron and Frank Taeter, a friend of the family.  The family would like to give thanks to Elara Caring for their care and Betty Jo and Rex, Lorena and Mark, Dawson, Tammy and the Montcalm County Commission on Aging. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Vera Shy, brother Robert Shy and his sisters Josephine Richardson, Harriet Porter, Laura Neal Sinex and Alice Recker.   No services are planned at this time.
