Alice Mejia Reeves

Alice Reeves age 81, formerly of Greenville passed away, Monday, May 10, 2021 at Sparrow Ionia Hospital. She was born August 17, 1939 in Los Angeles CA, the daughter of Augustine & Amalia (Mejia) Arelanes from a long line of proud Native Chumash people. Alice moved to Michigan with her husband and 7 children in the mid 60s and fell immediately in love with this great state, where 2 more children soon came along. She adored Greenville so much that no matter how many times she had to leave this was always home, and where she returned to each time. HOME. She is survived by all of her children Anna Lopez of Gainesville Florida, Catherine Phillips of Greenville, Steven (Gundi) Phillips of Germany, Lorraine (Tom) Ball of Suttons Bay, John Phillips of Muskegon, Matthew (Sarah) Phillips of Atlanta Georgia, Mark (Amie) Phillips of Vermontville, Lisa Gale of Muir, and Kelli Phillips of Belding. Alice was also blessed with 30 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and will be continued to be blessed as the grands aren't done yet. She is also survived by her two sisters in California, Eilene (Hondo) Hernandes and Sally Castillo, brother Richard Arelanes of California, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Frank and Robert Arelanes and her brother in law Robert Castillo. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
