John Edward (Doc) Heileman, aged 66, of Wyoming passed away suddenly Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Heartland Heath Care Center - Crestview in Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona and Elmer Ward and Bill Ward. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol Heileman; and his five children, Jon, Christopher, Richard, Elizabeth Heileman; Christine Vining and ten grandchildren; his siblings, Joyce Howard, NancyTownsend (Chuck), Bruce Ward (Carolyn), Steve Ward. An Army Veteran having served as a medic in Vietnam. Awarded the commendation medal for assisting the wounded and possibly saving the lives of a dozen of other Americans, Even after being wounded himself, earning a Purple Heart. He loved his family and friends and would do anything to help them. He loved his Detroit sports, having a hat for each one. Cremation has taken place. On Tuesday February 7, 2012, we will gather at Harvest OPC. Visiting with family at 1:30 pm service following at 2 pm. The family requests donations be gifted to Lacks Cancer center in his name.
