It saddens me to hear of the loss of your Mother and Grandmother. Maxine was my 3rd grade teacher and she remained my teacher and friend throught out the years. Even thought I no longer live in MI one of the highlights of coming back every summer was to make sure I visited in person with Maxine. Myself being a teacher as she was, we would sit and talk about education as well as your family and mine. We would always talk about her dear friend my mother, Dorothy Merlington as well. With Maxine's passing I know God has another angel and peace be with your and your families.

Being a former student of Mrs. Harris I couldn't help but be saddened by her passing. She was helpful for me and many others in learning the many socializing skills needed in later life. Although it has been over 50 years since i've had her as a teacher I still clearly remember the day we students heard our voices recorded by a tape recorder. The other students sounded normal, but could it be I sounded like that?

I loved having Mrs. Harris as a teacher in grade school. She was always smiling and had such a happy spirit. My condolences to her family
